fontaines cement themselves as the most inconsistent mainstream post-punk / rock band of the decade. first two singles were great, then got uninteresting; the few album tracks that are the highlights still don't do anything really interesting, grian's lyrics are basically the only thing that is. mildy impressed, wildly boring

definitely a re-listen but i absolutely love this album. the whole thing is so rich with character and textures and atmosphere it really feels like such a journey. going to listen to lots more alice coltrane asap

really love the songwriting. love the vocals they are so emotive. does feel quite bc,nr - esque at times which isn't a bad thing but i feel like that's where the creativity is lacking, however blue bendy r very cool i like them
